Before you refill your GLP-1 medicine, make sure you've done everything your insurance asks for to ensure your medication is covered. As part of your insurance company’s requirements, please make sure to use your Omada app at least 4 times over the past 4 weeks and weigh yourself with the Omada scale at least 4 times in the last 4 weeks. After you've done this, you may want to call your pharmacy insurance to check if there’s anything else you need to do to get your medication. Here is some helpful information to make sure you meet all the rules and know how it works:
Understand the Requirements:
We look at the last 4 complete weeks from Sunday to Saturday, plus any days in the current week. For example, if today is Thursday, we look at the past 4 full weeks, plus the days from Sunday to Thursday of the current week.
Here’s another example with dates from 2025, if today is Thursday June 12, we look at the past 4 full weeks (May 11-June 7), plus the days from Sunday June 8 to Thursday June 12. Starting Sunday, June 15, activity from the week of May 11-May 17 won't count anymore.
Every Sunday, the window moves forward by one week. This means we stop counting your oldest week and start counting your newest week instead.
Flexible Scheduling:
A simple way to meet your requirements is to use the Omada app and scale at least once a week. This routine not only helps in meeting requirements but also supports ongoing progress.
Even better: Use the app and scale twice a week. Going above the minimum gives you some wiggle room and helps make sure you won't miss your requirements. Check out the benefits of engaging with the Omada program while taking a GLP-1 medication here!
Adapt When Necessary:
If you’re unable to keep up with weekly engagements for any reason, remember that you’re not out of luck. You can engage and weigh in multiple times in a week to catch up within the lookback period.
Consider a Buffer Window:
After meeting your requirements, it can take 3 to 5 business days for the pharmacy to process and prepare your prescription.
To avoid any delays in accessing your medications, aim to meet your activity requirements slightly ahead of your anticipated needs to account for this processing time. After you've done this, you may want to call your pharmacy insurance to check if there’s anything else you need to do to get your medication.
By following these guidelines, you can ensure ongoing eligibility for your medications. Understanding the evaluation process, maintaining a consistent routine, and considering a buffer window will help keep your health management on track and avoid interruptions.
