What if I miss or need to reschedule or cancel my appointment with Quest Diagnostics?
If you miss or need to reschedule, or cancel your appointment, you can log in to your Quest Diagnostics account and schedule another appointment at another time that is convenient for you. Any changes that need to be made to your appointment can be done by logging into your Quest Diagnostics account at any time.
How long will my Quest Diagnostics appointment last?
The appointment you schedule with Quest Diagnostics is expected to take about 30 minutes.
What should I do to prepare for my appointment with Quest Diagnostics?
Make sure that you are well-hydrated with water prior to your blood draw. We ask that research participants wear lightweight and accessible clothing to their appointment to allow for body measurements, particularly weight and waist measurements, to be easily collected.
Do I have to fast for the blood draw?
No. You are not required to fast for your blood draw appointment. You will be able to schedule your blood draw appointment for any time and location that is convenient for you.
How much blood will be taken?
A total of 13 milliliters (or about 3 teaspoons) of blood will be collected under sterile conditions by a trained phlebotomist. Blood samples will be tested for hemoglobin A1c (a measure of blood sugar control), blood cholesterol, estimated glomerular filtration rate (a test of kidney function), and high-sensitivity C-Reactive Protein (a marker of inflammation).
What measurements will be taken?
In addition to completing an online questionnaire, research participants will be asked to schedule an appointment with their local Quest Diagnostics Service Center to undergo laboratory measurements and tests to include a measurement of height, weight, waist circumference, resting blood pressure and a venous blood draw. These measurements will be taken at the start of the program, and 6 months into the program.
Will I be able to see my results?
Within a few days of completing your blood draw and measurements with Quest Diagnostics, you will receive a secure email with your results sent to the email address you provided to Quest Diagnostics. You will also receive a hard copy of your results in the mail in about a week that will be sent to the mailing address you provided to Omada Health.
